Naturehike Innovation

In December 2021, Naturehike completed an innovative experimental center with a total investment of about RMB 30 million and an area of about 1,500 square meters. From windproof and rainproof performance testing to sun protection evaluation and mechanical testing, the laboratory helps verify products before they are presented to users.

The 13 core testing areas and 12 functional areas cover almost all key testing points of outdoor equipment. From materials to finished products, Naturehike controls its products with strict quality standards.

NatureHike lab wind and rain test

Windproof and rainproof test

The tent is placed on the central lifting and rotating platform and undergoes 360-degree wind and rain simulation tests at different intensities. Wind and rain intensity levels are gradually increased to test the ultimate resistance of the tent.

The rainfall of the equipment is based on 250mm/h, and the peak value can reach 400mm/h, equivalent to 1.6 times the rainfall of a heavy rainstorm. The wind test is based on level 7-8, and the peak value can reach a level 13 hurricane. If a tent cannot pass this challenge, it will not be presented to the user.

NatureHike lab Wear Test

Wear test

This is a big test for fabric, designed to simulate the outdoor environment. Naturehike uses standard abrasives and applies a maximum pressure of 12kPa for hours and tens of thousands of repeated rubs on the fabric.

NatureHike lab Pilling Test

Pilling test

The test is performed using the Martindale grinding method: anti-pilling testing for all types of fabrics. Under a certain pressure, samples are rubbed continuously up to 7000 times to help verify anti-pilling performance during real product use.

NatureHike lab Tear Test

Tear test

By simulating fabric that is frequently folded and stretched outdoors, the tensile testing machine measures the tear strength the fabric can withstand. This helps ensure different product categories meet or exceed mandatory requirements.

Only high-quality and reliable products are worthy of being provided to users.

NatureHike lab Extreme Stress Test

Extreme stress test

This test simulates repeated inflation, deflation and extreme states for inflatable outdoor equipment. Under a general rated pressure of 3.8kPa, inflatable pads and tent pipes are repeatedly inflated and deflated hundreds of times.

They are inflated up to 200kPa until the product bulges or even bursts, helping control service life and verify that ultimate pressure reaches 2-3 times the use value.

NatureHike lab Impact Test

Inflatable pad test area / Impact test

A heavy object impacts different points of the inflatable pad multiple times by free fall to test whether bulging, bursting, damage or other phenomena appear.

NatureHike lab Rolling Test

Inflatable pad test area / Rolling test

A 140kg roller is rolled over the air cushion thousands of times to simulate a person rolling on the air cushion and test whether bulging or other issues appear.

NatureHike lab Furniture Test

Furniture test

A series of tests accurately measure chair load bearing and impact resistance, including vertical sitting force of 120kg, support force applied behind the chair and long-term heavy static load testing to check for deformation or failure.

NatureHike lab Burn Test

Burn test

This test checks the flame-retardant effect of outdoor fabrics under flame, confirms whether the fabric has flame-retardant performance, measures carbonization length and checks whether the fabric continues to burn after leaving the flame.

NatureHike lab Light Aging Test

Light aging test

This test simulates strong outdoor ultraviolet exposure. Fabric is placed into a super-strong xenon lamp or ultraviolet device to accelerate aging, then product performance after long outdoor use is judged through mechanical properties and color fastness.

NatureHike lab Charge Discharge Test

Charge and discharge test

This test simulates battery degradation when a user repeatedly charges and discharges a product. It helps ensure the battery can maintain stable output after short periods of high-frequency use and still provide lasting power after long-term use.

NatureHike lab Hydrostatic Pressure Test

Hydrostatic pressure test

To test resistance to water pressure penetration, one side of the sample is subjected to continuously rising water pressure until three points of seepage appear on the other side. This evaluates waterproof performance, and Naturehike products can withstand at least a 2000mm H2O (20kPa) hydrostatic pressure test.
